Aquarium Fitment Finder
Two things that do not connect? Tell us what you have on one end and what you want on the other. The finder shows the exact TankRig adapter that bridges them, or tells you plainly when we do not make that pair yet.
Every size below is sourced from a manufacturer spec or a verified listing, not a guess. Start with your filter model, or with a raw hose, vinyl, or PVC size if you already know it.
Pick your filter model, or a hose or pipe size.
Pick the hose, vinyl, or PVC size you are connecting to.
How the finder works
Canister filters from Eheim, JBL, Oase, Aquael, and others ship with metric hose. Tubing from a US hardware store or pet shop is sized in inches. The two systems land close together but never exactly on top of each other, so a hose sized for one will not grip a barb cut for the other.
That is the whole job of an adapter: a different barb on each end, one sized for your filter hose and one sized for the tubing or pipe you are joining it to. The finder reads the same sourced size data our product pages use, then scans our catalog for the single part whose two ends match your two ends. If no stocked part fits, it points you to the made to order configurator instead of guessing.

Frequently asked questions
Which adapter connects my canister filter to vinyl tubing?+
Pick your filter on one end of the finder and the vinyl size on the other. The finder shows the exact TankRig adapter that bridges them. Most Eheim and JBL filters use 12/16mm or 16/22mm hose, which our adapters connect to 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, or 1 inch vinyl tubing.
How do I connect two different size aquarium hoses?+
You need a barb adapter with a different size on each end. Choose the size you have on one end of the finder and the size you want on the other. If we stock an adapter for that pair, the finder links right to it. If not, you can build it as a made to order part in the configurator.
Can I connect a canister filter to PVC pipe?+
Yes. Pick your hose size on one end and the PVC size on the other. Our PVC adapters use a printed spigot that slides into a standard PVC fitting, so you can plumb a permanent line instead of running flexible tubing.
What if the finder says you do not make my pair?+
It means we do not stock that exact adapter yet, or one of your sizes is not one we make a fit claim for. You can build a made to order part in the configurator, or measure your hose and check the sizes we do make. We would rather say that than point you at the wrong part.
Is a 5/8 inch barb the same as a 16mm hose?+
Close, but not exact. A 5/8 inch hose measures about 15.88mm inside, just under a true 16mm. That small gap is why the finder matches you to a barb cut for your exact size instead of one size trying to do both jobs.
