These are mechanical shrouds. Two halves close around a round heater body and a pair of clips holds them shut. We make no claim about heat, about burns, or about keeping anything in your tank safe. No heater maker publishes how much of a heater is glass and how much is the control head, so the length here is a planning length and the guard is built in segments you match to your own heater. Three popular heaters are not round and do not fit: the Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm, the Fluval E series, and the Aqueon Pro. Measure your heater before you order.
