Aquarium Heater Guard, 25 mm Class, 250 mm, Rim Clip

This is a cage that closes around a round aquarium heater. It is a mechanical shroud and nothing else. We make no claim about heat, about burns, or about keeping anything in your tank safe. It ships as seven printed pieces: four clamshell halves and three mount clips. Two halves make one segment, and both halves are the same part, so you turn one around to mate it with the other. The clips hold the halves closed. Each wing also carries a hole for your own tie if you want one. No hardware ships with the part. The bore measures 28.0mm and it is built around a 25.0mm round glass heater body. That body size comes from a shop listing, not from our own calipers, so measure your heater before you order. The bore is loose on purpose. You fit this to a wet heater by hand, often with your arm in a full tank, so it is not meant to grip the heater. Slots run around the cage in bands. They measure 7mm. That is a measurement of our part and nothing more. The 250mm is a planning length, not a fit. No heater maker publishes how much of a heater is glass and how much is the control head, so nobody can tell you the heated length of any heater on the market. That is why this guard is built in segments. Add a segment or drop one to match the heater you have. Three popular heaters are not round, so this guard does not fit them: the Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm, which is a flat slab, the Fluval E series, which is a rectangle, and the Aqueon Pro, which is not round either. The clips hang over your tank or sump wall. They open to a wall up to 12mm thick, and a nylon thumb screw takes up the slack on anything thinner. That is an adjustable range, not a fit for any one tank. Nylon will not scratch glass. The thumb screw is not included. We print in PETG. Aquarium keepers have used it submerged for years. Rinse before use.

Slot width is a new choice on our end. It is a measurement of the part, not a barrier for anything in your tank.
