Aquarium Heater Guard, 25 mm Class, 300 mm, Rim Clip

This is a cage that closes around a round aquarium heater. It is a mechanical shroud. We make no claim about heat, about burns, or about keeping anything in your tank safe. It ships as seven printed pieces: four clamshell halves and three mount clips. Two halves make one segment, and both halves are the same part, so you turn one around to mate it with the other. The clips hold the halves closed. Each wing also carries a hole for your own tie if you want one. No hardware ships with the part. The bore measures 28.0mm and it is built around a 25.0mm round glass heater body. The bore is loose on purpose. You fit this to a wet heater by hand, often with your arm in a full tank, so it is not meant to grip the heater. Slots run around the cage in bands. They measure 7mm. The 300mm is a planning length. The guard is built in segments, so add a segment or drop one to match the heater you have. Three popular heaters are not round, so this guard does not fit them: the Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm, which is a flat slab, the Fluval E series, which is a rectangle, and the Aqueon Pro, which is not round either. The clips hang over your tank or sump wall. They open to a wall up to 12mm thick, and a nylon thumb screw takes up the slack on anything thinner. Turn the thumb screw down until each clip sits firm. Nylon will not scratch glass. The thumb screw is not included. We print in PETG. Aquarium keepers have used it submerged for years. Rinse before use.

The slots measure 7mm. They are not a barrier for anything in your tank.
