Fish Guard, Fluval Large/XL Barb
This slotted cage fits onto your Fluval Large/XL intake hose and adds a barrier between your tank and the filter intake. Slot width is 4.0mm, wider than our shrimp guard, sized for fish tanks. Watch your tank after you install it. We print in PETG. Aquarium keepers have used it submerged for years. Rinse before use.

Common questions
Why would I pick the fish guard instead of the shrimp guard?
Pick the fish guard if you keep only fish, with no shrimp or fry in the tank. Its 4.0mm slot is wider than the 1.5mm slot on our shrimp guards.
How does the fish guard attach to my filter intake?
It slips over your canister hose or intake tube by hand. Each guard names the intake size it is cut for.
Can I use a fish guard in a shrimp tank?
We built the fish guard for fish only tanks. If you keep shrimp or fry, our shrimp guards use a narrower 1.5mm slot instead.
Do I still need to watch my tank with a guard installed?
Yes. Look in on your fish after you install one.
