Overflow Standpipe Silencer, 1-1/4 Inch PVC
This baffle slips over your overflow standpipe. It fits 1-1/4 inch PVC pipe. It works with a Herbie style or BeanAnimal style drain, the two common quiet-drain setups hobbyists build. Inside, small vanes break up the water as it falls, and slots on the side let air bleed out. That takes the gulp out of the drain, so it runs smoother. Push it on by hand for a snug fit. We ship it dry, with no glue, so you can pull it off to clean it. Press it down until it seats on the standpipe. Rinse before use.

- How it goes on
- It slips over your overflow standpipe. It is sized to Schedule 40 pipe, in 1 inch and 1-1/4 inch.
- Push it on by hand for a snug fit. We ship it dry, with no glue, so you can pull it off to clean it.
- Check that it sits snug before you leave it.
- Check it the first time
- Rinse the part in clean water before it goes in your tank.
- Run the drain and check that it is still seated.
