Eheim 12/16mm to 1/2 Inch Vinyl Barb Adapter
Works with Eheim Classic 150, Classic 250, Classic 350, Classic 600, ecco pro 130 / 200 / 300 and eXperience 150 / 250. Also JBL CristalProfi e401, CristalProfi e701, CristalProfi e901 and InSet.
This adapter connects 12/16mm hose (Eheim Classic 150/250/350/600, JBL InSet) to 1/2 inch clear vinyl tubing. Push each end on by hand for a snug, push-fit connection. Fully seat the hose on the barb. Use an appropriately sized hose clamp where your installation calls for one. We print in PETG. Aquarium keepers have used it submerged for years. Rinse before use.

- How it goes on
- Look at both ends first. Each end is cut for the size named in the fitment table on this page.
- Push each end on by hand until it seats.
- Fully seat the hose on the barb. Use an appropriately sized hose clamp where your installation calls for one.
- Check it the first time
- Rinse the part in clean water before it goes in your tank.
- After startup, inspect each connection for leaks.
- Cleaning
- Pull it off and rinse it in clean water when you clean the rest of your hose line.
- Taking it off
- Twist it and pull it off by hand. Nothing is glued.

Common questions
My hose feels loose on the filter. Will a new adapter help?
A hose that is too big for its barb will not seal, no matter how hard you push it on. Our adapters cut a barb to your exact hose size, so it seats snug instead of spinning loose. Push each end on by hand until it is fully seated. Use a hose clamp where your setup calls for one. Then check the joint once you fill the tank.
How do I know which adapter size to order?
Pick by your filter model. Our hose guide lists every model's size, and the adapter matches that size. Adapters key on the hose size, not the brand name on the filter.
Do I need glue to install an adapter?
No. Every adapter is a push on fit for the hose or pipe size it lists. You do not need glue.
What if I need a bend instead of a straight run?
Some of our adapters are cut at a 45 degree angle for a gentle bend. For a full 90 degree turn, see our elbow adapters instead.
