Coral Frag Rack, 24 Hole, Standoff

This is a flat plate with 24 holes in it. Each hole takes the stem of a coral frag plug, so the plug stands up on the plate. The holes measure 10.125mm across and they run all the way through, so the length of the stem does not matter. Holes sit 31.75mm apart, center to center, and the plate is laid out for plug tops up to 19.05mm across, about 3/4 inch. That top size is smaller than the one our smaller racks take, and that is on purpose. At the wider spacing, 24 holes would run past the edge of our print bed. Three brands publish a 3/4 inch top, so those plugs are easy to buy. Between the plug holes are smaller open holes. They cut the weight of the plate and let water move through it. There is no standard size for a frag plug stem. Most racks skip that fact. Brands publish 9.0mm, 9.525mm (3/8 inch), 10.0mm, and 11.113mm (7/16 inch) stems, and one brand sells two of those sizes in its own store. One plug on the market is square, not round, and no round hole suits it. This rack is cut for the 9.525mm (3/8 inch) stem, the one the most brands publish, plus a little room around it. This one stands on its own. Two side panels hold the plate up off the tank floor or off a frag tank base. The top edge of each panel is cut at an angle, so setting the rack down level is what tips the plate up and points the plug tops upward. There is no hardware and nothing to mount. We print in PETG.
