Coral Frag Rack, XL 40 Hole, Standoff
This is a set of two flat plates with 40 holes between them. Each hole takes the stem of a coral frag plug, so the plug stands up on the plate. Both plates are the same, 20 holes each, and each one carries its own mount. One 40 hole plate would be wider than our print bed at this hole spacing, so two plates is how you get 40 holes and keep the wider spacing. The holes measure 10.125mm across and they run all the way through, so the length of the stem does not matter. Holes sit 38.1mm apart, center to center, and the plate is laid out for plug tops up to 25.4mm across, about 1 inch. Between the plug holes are smaller open holes. They cut the weight of the plate and let water move through it. There is no standard size for a frag plug stem. Most racks skip that fact. Brands publish 9.0mm, 9.525mm (3/8 inch), 10.0mm, and 11.113mm (7/16 inch) stems, and one brand sells two of those sizes in its own store. One plug on the market is square, not round, and no round hole suits it. This rack is cut for the 9.525mm (3/8 inch) stem, the one the most brands publish, plus a little room around it. This one stands on its own. Two side panels hold the plate up off the tank floor or off a frag tank base. The top edge of each panel is cut at an angle, so setting the rack down level is what tips the plate up and points the plug tops upward. There is no hardware and nothing to mount. We print in PETG. Aquarium keepers have used it submerged for years. Rinse before use.

- What is in the box
- 2 printed pieces. The pieces go together by hand. A magnet rack arrives with its discs already fitted, plus one matching disc for the dry side of the glass.
- How it goes on
- A magnet rack holds against the glass, with the matching disc on the dry side. A rim hook rack hangs on the tank wall. A standoff rack stands on the tank floor.
- Set the stem of each frag plug into a hole. The holes run all the way through, so the length of the stem does not matter.
- Check it the first time
- Rinse the part in clean water before it goes in your tank.
- Check that the rack is seated before you load the plate.
- Cleaning
- Lift the plate out and rinse it in clean water.
- Taking it off
- Lift it off the glass, the rim, or the tank floor by hand.

Common questions
How many holes should I order, 6, 12, 24, or 40?
Match the hole count to how many frags you want to hold at once. A bigger rack holds more frags but takes up more space on the glass, the rim, or the tank floor.
Will my frag plug fit the 10.125mm hole?
The default holes are cut for a 9.525mm (3/8 inch) stem, the most common size. Brands publish stems from 9.0mm to 11.113mm (7/16 inch), and our frag rack guide lists which brand uses which.
Should I pick the magnet, rim hook, or standoff mount?
Pick the magnet version to hold the rack against the glass, with its disc magnets fitted and included. Pick the rim hook version to hang it on the tank wall, or the standoff version to stand it on the tank floor.
What if my frag plugs are a different stem size?
There is no standard size for a frag plug stem across brands, so we cut holes in 9mm, 9.525mm, 10mm, 11.113mm, and a 13.30mm universal. Our frag rack guide lists the stem size each brand publishes.
