Surface Rake, 110mm Wide Head, 2 Piece

This is a long handled comb for floating plants. It ships as two pieces, a head and a handle, and they slide together by hand. The joint is keyed, so it only goes together one way. It is a friction slide fit, not a lock. Put together, the tool is about 24cm long, close to 9 inches. The head is 110mm wide. You drag it across the surface toward you. The gaps between the tines measure 2.0mm, so water passes between them. Behind the tines is a fence, and the fence is slotted as well, so water passes through it too. That gap is our own choice. No source anywhere gives a size for a duckweed frond, and frond size changes with the plant and with how it grew, so we picked a number and we are telling you what it is. Very small floating plants such as watermeal will pass straight through a 2.0mm gap. The end of the handle has a notch cut across the underside, so the tool can rest on a rim or a trim. The notch measures 12mm across. That is a measurement of our part, not a fit for any tank, so measure your rim first. The scoop and the comb of the same head width use the same handle piece, so one spare handle covers both. This is a new design. We print-test every set before it ships. We print in PETG. Aquarium keepers have used it submerged for years. Rinse before use.
