Duckweed Scoop, 110mm Wide Head, 2 Piece
This is a long handled tray for floating plants. It ships as two pieces, a head and a handle, and they slide together by hand. The joint is keyed, so it only goes together one way. It is a friction slide fit, not a lock. Put together, the tool is about 26cm long, close to 10 inches. The head is 110mm wide. You slide it under the floating plants and lift. The floor of the tray is cut with slots that measure 2.0mm, so water drains back into the tank. Very small floating plants such as watermeal will pass straight through a 2.0mm gap. The end of the handle has a notch cut across the underside, so the tool can rest on a rim or a trim. The notch measures 12mm across. The scoop and the comb of the same head width use the same handle piece, so one spare handle covers both. This is a new design. We print in PETG. Aquarium keepers have used it submerged for years. Rinse before use.

Common questions
Should I pick the scoop or the rake?
Pick the scoop to slide under floating plants and lift them out. Pick the rake to drag across the surface and gather plants toward you.
Which head width should I order?
Tools come in 50mm, 80mm, and 110mm head widths. Match the width to your tank size and how much surface you want to clear in one pass.
Will the gaps let tiny floating plants like watermeal through?
Yes. Both the scoop and the rake use a 2.0mm gap, our own choice, and very small floating plants such as watermeal will pass straight through.
Does one handle work with more than one head?
Yes. The same handle fits the scoop and the rake of that width, so you can swap heads without buying a new handle.
